Lindy Hop
The Lindy Hop is an American social dance, belonging to the swing dances. It evolved in Harlem, N.Y. around 1927 and became famous through dancers like Frankie Manning, Leon James, Shorty Snowden, Al Minns and Norma Miller. Lindy Hop is a fusion of many dances that preceded it or were popular during its development. It is mainly based on Foxtrot, Jazz, Tap, Breakaway and Charleston. As a fun dance with lots of improvisational features, it also demands a well developed understanding of techniques and sensitivity.
